Customer Support Specialist


New York, NY - Working Remotely

PowerMarket is a growing company working at the intersection of energy, policy, and technology that believes the future of clean energy is digital. We're a leader in the community solar industry and provide solar developers, utilities, and energy retailers with the tools and services necessary to manage and administer their community solar programs.

We typically work out of the Urban Tech Hub at Company, a vertical innovation campus, located near Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan, but at the moment and for the foreseeable future are working remotely from home. We're looking for an experienced Customer Support Specialist to help support our growing subscriber base of community solar customers.

Whether it's responding to customers by phone and email on a daily basis or working with our operations team to help customers get the most from their community solar program, you will be tasked with keeping customers informed and excited about their participation. Salary is $45,000 to $55,000 depending on experience with opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to develop relationships with prospective community solar subscribers via phone and email in a high-volume environment.
  • Explain complex solar and energy industry concepts in terms customers can understand.
  • Work with our support and operations teams to coordinate and improve customer data quality.
  • Draft email templates, scripts and marketing materials to facilitate customer communications.
  • Work to educate people on simple solutions that better the world and improve the environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous customer support and or call center experience.
  • Passion for the clean energy industry and a strong desire to learn more.
  • Fantastic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills and the ability to manage and analyze data using MS Excel.
  • Comfortable working a fast-paced start-up environment.

As the Sales Outreach and Strategic Partnership Manager, you will have a leading role in customer acquisition and developing strategic partnerships with mission-aligned organizations, and municipalities throughout New Jersey. The ability to bring an existing set of in state relationships is extremely compelling.

We work out of the Urban Tech Hub at Company, a vertical innovation campus, located near Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan and are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineering Intern to join us.

Apart from valuable work experience in the clean energy domain we offer the opportunity to improve your full-stack development skills by working side-by-side with our existing team of elite software engineers. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer you will work on feature development, improvements to our platform, and performance enhancements to the application.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day feature development across the full application stack
  • Continued development of our API layer and migration toward a microservice architecture
  • Assist with the development of our ORM persistence layer as it relates to caching and in a distributed hardware environment
  • Working with third-party platforms like Stripe / AWS / AdobeSign and others
  • Requirements gathering and application design across the full software development lifecycle

Qualifications

In this position you will analyze the current North American clean energy policy landscape to determine states and provinces that represent the best opportunities for distributed generation programs like deep retrofit energy efficiency, oil-to-gas conversions, solar rooftops, and electric vehicle infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and parse existing data in DSIRE and ACEEE renewable energy databases
  • Cull public data into qualitative and quantitative research for presentation to management
  • Participate in the strategic discussions surrounding the research
  • Prioritize research and seek new sources of data
  • Contribute to our internal knowledge base of policy and data assets

Qualifications

  • You are passionate and open-minded about the energy industry.
  • Experience working in the utility industry or demonstated understanding of utility industry concepts like avoided cost, LMP, dispatch, load duration, capacity markets, DTCs, LSEs, ISOs and RSOs

As a Front-End Developer you will work to make the existing code base more consistent and available across platforms (mobile, browser and OS).

Responsibilities

  • Develop dashboards, navigation and interactivity in both mobile and traditional environments
