Community Power - Inside Sales Specialist


Long Island/New York City and Working Remotely

PowerMarket is a leading community renewable energy company working at the intersection of energy, policy, and software that believes the future of clean energy is digital. We provide the community solar industry with the tools and services necessary to manage and administer our community clean power programs.

We typically work out of the Urban Tech Hub at Company, a vertical innovation campus, located near Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan, but have been working remotely for the past year and will be embracing a hybrid work paradigm going forward.

We're looking for an experienced sales and/or communications professional with direct inside sales and call-center experience to engage and educate interested participants in community renewable energy. Whether it's responding to customers by phone and email on a daily-basis or working with our support, operations, and software teams to help customers get the most from their community solar or fuel cell program, you will be tasked with helping prospects learn about and enroll in our community power programs.

Responsibilities

  • Explain complex solar, fuel cell, and energy industry concepts in terms anyone can understand
  • Ability to develop relationships with prospective community power subscribers in a high-volume phone and email environment
  • Communicate customer feedback with our support, operations, and software teams to improve the overall customer experience
  • Draft email templates, scripts and marketing materials to facilitate customer communications
  • Work collaboratively with a team to ensure all potential subscribers are responded to promptly and with the highest level of customer service.
  • Ability to quickly learn about state and utility rules and processes as they relate to participation in a renewable energy program.
  • Work to educate people on simple solutions that better the world and improve the environment

Qualifications

  • Previous sales and/or call-center experience
  • Passion for the clean energy industry and a strong desire to learn more
  • Fantastic verbal and written communication skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills - the ability to manage and analyze data using MS Excel is a bonus
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment

Director of Customer Acquisition


Northeast Corridor, Maine and Emerging Markets

PowerMarket is a growing company working at the intersection of energy, policy and technology. We are a community solar solutions provider that allows solar developers, utilities, and energy retailers to offer community solar and other clean energy products and services to their customers.

We are looking for an experienced sales and management professional to lead our community solar customer acquisition efforts and associated team. As a manager you will work in collaboration with our Community Engagement team and as a leader actively engage with community groups, industry associations, and local organizations with the objective of growing our subscriber base. The ability to leverage existing relationships is very compelling.

We work out of the Urban Tech Hub at Company, a vertical innovation campus, located near Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan, but have been working remotely for the past year and will be embracing a hybrid work paradigm going forward. Our current acquisition efforts are focused on Maine, New Jersey, Colorado, New York and states that have enabling community solar legislation. As the Director of Customer Acquisition you will be creating new opportunities and relationships in these areas as well as managing remote staff. Highly competitive salary with opportunity for substantial growth (open to performance based compensation).

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with strategic partners in key regions
  • Day-to-day collaboration with marketing and business development teams
  • Lead and manage subscriber acquisition campaigns in key regions
  • Engage with community groups and industry associations
  • Conduct market research and analysis to optimize acquisition efforts
  • Help manage and support subscribers as they move through enrollment process
  • Host info sessions and speak to audiences at relevant events to help engage both clients and customers
  • Ability to work remotely, independently, and to manage professional relationships

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with strategic partnerships, marketing, and/or outbound sales and support

Manager of Customer Support

We're looking for an experienced sales, marketing and management professional with direct call-center experience. Someone who can take a leadership position within the Customer Care team. Whether it's responding to customers by phone and email on a daily basis or working with our operations and software teams to help customers get the most from their community solar program, you will be tasked with keeping customers informed and excited about their participation. In additional to being an active member of the Customer Care team, you will also grow into a leadership position and manage day-to-day activities through the lens of key performance indicators and service level agreements. This is a growth position with highly competitive salary.

  • Previous customer support and or call center experience
  • Passion for the clean energy industry and a strong desire to learn more
  • Fantastic verbal and written communication skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills and the ability to manage and analyze data using MS Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or equivalent professional experience. Strong preference for MBAs.
